The inspiration behind this piece, 'Creation', comes from our Navajo rug weavers. This design is one of many you will see in our traditional rugs and artwork. The design starts to take shape at the point and growes as it spirals out. The texture in the middle is meant to look like strands of wool. This piece is the beginning to many ideas I will expand upon in the future,  a series inspired by Diné origin stories and my great-grandmother, Tiana. My great-grandmother was a rug weaver, and I have many fond memories growing up watching her weave on her loom. The curve of this piece is also meant to look like a heart which expresses the love I have for my grandma and our Navajo rug weavers.
